FILE TYPE COLLECTION
Font File Types & Extensions
Browse font file types and extensions for desktop and web use, including TTF, OTF and WOFF2, with compatibility and licensing guidance.
Choose a workflow
Name the target environment before choosing a font workflow: a desktop application, a web page or another platform. Check both format support and permission to use the particular font. This hub does not provide font files or licensing clearance.
Identify the target environment
Confirm the format accepted by the intended application. A filename alone cannot establish compatibility.
Review permission to use it
Keep the font's license and source information. A format guide is not a license for a specific font.
Separate inspection from installation
Do not install an unknown file merely to identify it. Use reviewed workflows and retain your source materials.
Common tasks and format choices
Typical workflows
Install a desktop font, package a web font, or exchange type assets with a design application. TTF, OTF, and WOFF2 target overlapping but different environments.
Compatibility checklist
Format support and permission are separate questions. Confirm the target environment and retain the license supplied with the particular font file.
